MEET THE FOUNDER

Jesse Cody, a native of Cambridge, MA, and now a resident of Santa Fe, NM, is the visionary founder of Hike The Good Hike—a nonprofit organization passionately dedicated to raising awareness for mental health through the transformative power of wilderness exploration. He inspires individuals to discover their own "hike," encouraging them to embark on personal journeys that foster healing and a profound connection with nature.

Over the years, Jesse has drawn upon his own experiences of finding mental health and healing in the great outdoors as the foundation of this organization. Having battled insecurity, depression, and suicidal thoughts for much of his life, this cause is not just a mission; it is deeply personal and dear to his heart.

Nature reached out to Jesse, pulling him from the depths of darkness. Through his journey, he finally quieted the inner turmoil that had plagued him for so long, learning to engage with those voices from a place of thoughtfulness and grounding. After nine years and roughly 15,000 miles on the trail, he embraces life fully and feels profoundly aligned with his purpose.

COACHING & CONSULTING

Jesse offers a diverse range of consulting topics, from day hiking essentials to extended treks with overnight camping. As an American Triple Crowner of hiking, Jesse provides invaluable insights on how to prepare for your journey and, just as importantly, how to find joy in your wilderness experience.

Beyond hiking, Jesse delves into coping strategies for anxiety, depression, and negative thought patterns, using nature as a powerful tool to overcome mental health barriers. He also offers guidance on confronting narcissistic behavior and cultivating self-love. These practices are based on Jesse's personal experiences and self-education; it is essential to note that Jesse does not have formal educational training in therapy or medicine.

Additionally, Jesse provides coaching on pursuing career goals, drawing from his understanding of the daunting leap such changes can entail.

Coaching with Jesse is available in two formats: one-on-one sessions (in-person or via Zoom) and partial day hikes. There is also the possibility of having Jesse join an overnight hiking trek, which can be discussed upon request.

All payments are on a sliding scale and donation-based through our 501(c)(3) organization, Hike The Good Hike Inc.
